the elderly,the eccentric, seem to be punished mercilessly in the UK
it is an abuse of authority to send people like Norman Scarth to prison when child molesters and murderers are released after two years only (in the recent case against a criminal who committed rape of a 13 year old girl)
We need proper democracy in this country with referendums called on all issues the public feel strongly about. And that should include the working of the law.
